About CaddyPatch | CaddyPatch Factoids

CaddyPatch is made of leather….not plastic, not vinyl or not a woven material. Those materials do not mark or wear as well as real leather. And not just any leather. This has been specially made for us by our careful tanners to be of a particular thickness, color and grade. And the grade is the highest available.

As you are aware from the instructions, you should commence your peel by grasping the edge of your CaddyPatch next to the red dot. There is a reason for this admonition. The adhesives employed are designed to grasp firmly to the face of your club and the surface of the CaddyPatch card as well. As a result, the construction of CaddyPatch involves the leather, films and layers of special adhesives. In order to make the peeling process as easy as possible, we have folded a small leather tab and the adhesives back on themselves and tucked the tab under the back of the CaddyPatch where the red dot is located. Absent this assistance, golfers who are fingernail-challenged might have a hard time lifting the CaddyPatch from the card.

CaddyPatch is designed to be durable although its durability is a function of at least two factors: club head speed and club head loft. The average golfer hitting a club with modest loft such as a long iron or driver should be able to use a CaddyPatch through four or more 50-ball buckets. If you hit harder than average and use a short iron, expect to see wear after two buckets. Lofted clubs create more friction on the surface of the club.

CaddyPatch saves your club faces….and that’s a good thing. Think of it this way. In a round of golf, you might hit your five iron five or six times. If you hit a medium-sized bucket of balls with your five iron during practice, that’s equivalent of ten rounds of golf for that single club. And what did you pay for your irons? What did you pay for your CaddyPatch? We did the math….good choice going with CaddyPatch. Save the face of your irons for when you’re on the course.

The suede leather used in the fabrication of CaddyPatch is so thin that it has very few other commercial uses. It’s on the order of one millimeter or less. Yes, that’s thin. No, it’s not easy to make.
